Light up your home and make a statement! Lamps create ambience and warmth, making a room cosy and inviting. They increase both the aesthetic and functionality of a space, with energy efficiency thrown in for good measure (no burning banks of overhead lights).

Join us in the spacious surroundings of our Butterbox Gallery for a creative morning making your own lampshade. You’ll have an abundance of gorgeous fabric designs to choose from, (not included in the price) either designed by myself or through a collaboration with various Australian surface art designer, so you are unlikely to see these designs elsewhere!

Our designs Include Australian birds, tropical, coastal and floral themes. Calm neutrals and vibrant colours means choosing your fabric will be the hardest part of the day - they are all beautiful (a small selection in the photo).

What is included in the price -

Everything you need to create your very own lampshade will be supplied on the day,

• a choice of drum lampshade sizes cut to meet your requirements 
• lampshade adhesive paper
• trim
• glue
• double sided sticky tape
• dual adaptor, so that your new lampshade will fit your existing lamp stand
• cutting and measuring equipment
• tuition throughout the class
• full instructions to take home
• morning tea
• full demonstration, from beginning to end, before you make your own.

What is NOT included in the price -

Excludes fabric, I will bring a range of fabrics on the day for your to choose from, these will be available to purchase before the class and cut ready for you to complete your lampshade.  This can be paid for on the day approx. $25. 

If you prefer to bring along your own fabric then please do, you will need 1/2 metre to ensure pattern placement  it will need to be a cotton or linen, medium weight and preferrably 135cm wide.

There will be two lampshade diameter sizes to choose from, and the height can be to your choosing in the ever-popular drum shape which fits in with both modern and traditional décor. Sizes are 25cm/30cm diameter and 20/30 cm tall, or 35cm/40cm diameter at 20/30cm tall.

Once you’ve selected your fabric design and chosen your preferred lampshade size, this will be cut and ironed ready for the class to start.  You can enjoy a cuppa whilst I finalise the sizes and then we will make lampshades. 
 
This is a small group experience of just six, so you have maximum attention and guidance.
