The nasturtium lampshade that stopped people in their tracts at Eumundi Market
There are some designs that quietly arrive into a collection… and then there are designs that completely captivate people the moment they see them.
My new Nasturtium lampshade has been exactly that.
Debuted recently at the famous Eumundi Markets on the Sunshine Coast, this striking floral design instantly became one of my fastest-selling new releases. People stopped, smiled, touched the fabric, and almost universally said the same thing:
“The colours are incredible.”
And they truly are.
With rich orange, coral, crimson and leafy green tones dancing across a dramatic black background, this antique-inspired floral feels both timeless and bold. The nasturtium flower itself has long been adored in cottage gardens around the world — cheerful, free-flowing and full of life — and this design captures all of that romance beautifully.
Inspired by Antique Botanical Beauty
I’ve always been drawn to antique botanical prints and vintage floral artwork. There’s a softness and artistry in those older illustrations that modern prints often miss. This Nasturtium design was carefully curated and brought together by myself, combining that old-world botanical charm with a fresh, contemporary richness of colour.
The black background makes the florals absolutely glow.
It creates a moody elegance that works beautifully in both modern homes and traditional interiors. Whether styled in a country cottage, Queenslander, coastal home or eclectic interior, the design instantly becomes a statement piece.
The best part? It’s incredibly versatile.
More than just lampshades
While the lampshades have been the standout favourite so far, this design works beautifully across a range of home furnishings.
The Nasturtium print can also be made into:
- Cushions
- Curtains
- Soft furnishings
- Custom interior pieces
- Decorative accents for bedrooms, living spaces and sunrooms
And because I work with different fabric bases, the overall look can completely transform depending on the finish you choose.
Available fabric options include:
- Velvet for rich luxury and depth
- Cotton linen for a relaxed, natural feel
- Pure linen for timeless texture and elegance
Three stunning background options
The dramatic black background has become the hero version — and understandably so — but the design is also available on:
- Natural linen backgrounds for a softer organic look
- Crisp white backgrounds for a fresh botanical feel
Each version brings out a different personality in the florals, making it easy to style into many different homes and aesthetics.
Handmade on the Sunshine Coast
Every lampshade is handmade with care here in Australia as part of my collection at I Just Love That Fabric.
What I love most is creating pieces that feel joyful — pieces that start conversations, brighten homes, and bring personality into a room. Seeing customers connect emotionally with this Nasturtium design at market was incredibly special.
There’s something nostalgic yet fresh about nasturtiums.
Perhaps it’s because they’ve grown in gardens all over the world for generations. They remind people of grandmothers’ gardens, cottage pathways, warm summers and colour-filled afternoons.
And now they’re finding their way into homes as beautiful statement furnishings too.
A floral design that feels alive
Some floral prints can feel static. This one doesn’t.
The flowing vines, layered petals and painterly movement give the design energy and warmth. Whether lit softly in the evening as a lampshade or used across larger furnishings, it creates atmosphere instantly.
It’s bold.
It’s artistic.
It’s joyful.
And clearly… people are falling in love with it.
After selling out so quickly at Eumundi Market, I’m already working on creating more.
